Anyone know anything about them..? I like the look, but what about function,..?  If handles and runs good it would be a nice intermediate bike for everyday use.  Im wondering about the side by side twin..? Is it a turd..? reliable?

I don't know about the TDM, but I've always wanted a TRX850. I keep looking for them but I have never seen one for sale stateside.

TDMs are popular in Europe but never gained many fans here in the US. There was a guy here in the Bay Area selling one that has 40K on it. From what others have told me, its a good bike for the road and can handle double track and some single. Reliable like a stone, easy to ride, enough power for two up on the open road with gear.
I'm still looking for a TDR250.

It's just what the guys said when I asked about the bike.
I'd take that bike on fire trails and double track only. Looks like a beast

I was hoping to find someone who accually has one. Im wondering if they have the torque like a V-twin.?  Like an SV 650. Thats my other choice.  For the money and miles, This maybe be a sleeper in the woods, for a nice daily ride. There is a local who has one with 13k on it, a 2003. MINT SPOTLESS He has a stable of bikes. One of those loaded collector types.  So to him a loss is just another transaction. He said  $2000.00
I cant touch a SV 650 for less than $2800.00 for a 1999!!
It seems to be a little to top heavy for a single track, but a wide gravel road would be fine.  I want it for a daily rider. Somewhat agile for getin around the mnts. and through traffic. And not too small that Im workin it to death for a 80 mile run.

Ross, I think you would be nuts to pass on the TDM for $2k if it is mint.  I have looked for one on 2 different occasions and never did find one around here.  SV's are good fun bikes but their rep has kept the prices inflated around $1k to high in my opinion.

Yea Ed, i think that is Mike G. The TDM is a twin but side by side, and then the whole motor is leaned way forward.
Mitch Im with you to the letter. The SV has got a cult like devotion of riders, and EVERYONE knows how great they are. Thats why I considered this one. Im not gonna have the cabbage for a while. You want to grab this one, I'll turn you on to it. I have also gone off the map and looked at the Honda GT Hawk. But again pulling good money for a older bike. I have to get my GS finished before I can do anything. So, Im on hold. They do like these things in Europe, thats why I dont understand the low vision here.

As usual Canadians get all the good stuff.  His had fairly low miles.  The story he told was that the PO ran it into a ditch and let it sit.  He picked it up.  Minor scrapes on the bodywork but with all the graphics you really have to look.  He said getting new plastic is next to impossible...

Ross - If yer talking Mike G out of CT, thats not who I saw.  This guy was from Nova Scotia.  He came with two bikes and a wife, left with the wife and three bike.  He bought a nice DT360 while there...
